Berita baik untuk peminat outerspace, tapi tak suka baca heavy stuff, buku The World’s Easiest Astronomy Book ni paling sesuai untuk anda.

Antara fakta menarik dalam buku ini tentang laju cahaya;

The speed of light is 300,000 km per second, meaning that light could circle the Earth seven and a half times in a single second. Even at this incredible speed it still takes light from the Sun 8 mintes to reach the Earth. That means that when we see the Sun, what we actually see is the Sun from 8 minutes ago. Even if the Sun were to explode, we wouldn’t know it until 8 minutes later.
:: (Dipetik dari “Lesson 03 – Everything we see is in the past”).

Atau jumlah bintang;

It is said that with the naked eye youcan see a total of around 8,600 stars, ranging from bright magnitude 1 stars to dim magnitude 6 stars. If you include all the other stars which we can’t see with the naked eye, there are 200,000,000,000 stars in the Milky Way alone. Then consider that there are 100,000,000,000 galaxies like ours in the universe. That means that there are 200,000,000,000 multiplied by 100,000,000,000 stars in the universe! That would be 20 billion trillion, or in the scientific terms, 20 sextillion.
:: (Dipetik dari “Lesson 21 – The numbers of Stars”)

Atau zero gravity;

When you light a candle on earth we all know it produces a tall, elongated flame, which is caused by airflow due to convection. But because there is no convection inside the space station, the flame would not stretch upwards at all. It would be round.
:: (Dipetik dari “Lesson 27 – A Zero Gravity World”)

Mr. Nakagawa juga kadang-kadang membuatkan kita berfikir;

The birth of the universe was 13.7 billion years ago. That birth was a huge explosion called the Big Bang, and the universe has been continually expanding like a balloon from then right up to the present day. But does the universe have and end? (Dipetik dari “Lesson 08 – Life of the Universe”)

Ada banyak lagi info, fakta dan teori dalam buku The World’s Easiest Astronomy Book ni. Harganya pun murah je. Kalau pegi kedai buku ke library ke, aku syorkan cari buku ni.
