Sapa baca paper hari ni mesti ada terpandang artikel Kereta boleh terbang.

Kereta Transition dari company Terrafugia adalah kereta pertama yang bakal merealisasikan impian aku – kereta terbang! Yang aku paham, company ni baru on business tahun 2006 oleh engineer-pilot grad from MIT.

Toyota iQ

Tak ramai yang tahu pasal iQ, compact car dari Toyota Motors. Kereta ni unik dan comel. Boleh masuk 4 penumpang (3 dewasa 1 budak).  Macam mana tu? Tgk pic kat bawah, ada gap 29cm antara seat driver dan kelindan. So seat yang belakang driver tu untuk budak kecik. Team aku buat assembly jig drawing untuk floor iQ ni dlm bulan 7-8 dulu. Biasa almost every car, flooring dia symmetrical. Kiri kanan sama. Tapi yang iQ ni sebabkan seat dia yg lari sikit, so kitorang tak boleh buat ordinary L/R drawing (buat drawing sebelah kanan sahaja, mirror drawing for the lefty). Kena jugak draw different jig for both sides. Toyota byk jugak abiskan duit kat technical drawing selain R&D. Sebab tu mahal kot :P

Anyway ni dia punya spec :

Tapi walaupun cc iQ ni agak kecik, tapi still tak boleh lawan the latest Honda Fit dari segi fuel usage. Kena improve efficiency baru boleh lawan other compact cars. iQ ni pun baru first edition, so aku harap byk lagi yg boleh diimprove next time.

Blu-ray disc

Blu-ray disc ni actually dah lama ada (Announced on Feb. 19th, 2002 by Sony & Matsushita ), tapi rasa ramai lagi org yg tak tahu.. esp after kuor PS3, kalau pegi DVD store kat jpn ni ade la tunjuk Blu-ray blu-ray.. Apa menda Blu-ray (BD) ni.. Maka mari kita meminjam info dari Encik Wikipedia;

“A Blu-ray Disc (also called BD) is a high-density optical disc format for the storage of digital media, including high-definition video. The name Blu-ray Disc is derived from the blue-violet laser used to read and write this type of disc. Because of this shorter wavelength (405 nm), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on the common DVD format, which uses a red, 650 nm laser. Blu-ray Disc can store 25 GB on each layer, as opposed to a DVD’s 4.7 GB. Several manufacturers have released single layer and dual layer (50 GB) recordable BDs and rewritable discs. All supporting studios have either already released or have announced release of movies on 50GB discs.”

So basically, BD boleh simpan data yg jauh lagi byk dari DVD. (1xBD=10xDVD=60CD lebih kurang).. Tapi apa yg menggembirakan aku, BD ni of course ade gak region code mcm DVD (buat region code ni kalau tak salah aku idea Jepun la – gedik). Tapi haha, jeng jeng jeng, Region dia camni:

A/1 North America, Central America, South America, Koreas, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
B/2 Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
C/3 India, Nepal, Mainland China, Russia, Central and South Asia.

Apa maknenye tu? Maknanya semua blu-ray disc from US boleh play kat Japan ni, hence, aku tak perlu dah beli mahal.. FYI, DVD region kat sini region 2, US DVD region 1.. DVD utk foreign movies kat sini mahal cam siot.. Cth, kalau cite TV drama House Complete Season 1, kat sini harga ¥7,427 (=RM250), tapi kalau order from US boleh dpt US$40 (=130).. Apsal mahal? Sbb Jepun ni sumer bangang English, kalau citer yg takde alihsuara or takde subtittle mmg dia tak beli.. so mahal tu sbb mahal nk upah bayar org yg translate the whole movie/show la.. thats why kalau BD dah berlambak, boleh order terus US aje lagi murah (or kalau cerita bodoh2 tu beli pirate ekekeke)

But the only problem nownih, aku takde BD player.. hmmmm.. “terpaksa” beli PS3 ke? ihihihi
